Manchester United has endured a rough start under their new manager David Moyes so far this season and now find themselves in ninth place on just ten points from seven games.
The performance of many players has been questioned as Moyes looks to successfully succeed the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson.
The likes of Ashley Young and Patrice Evra have not lived up to their expectations. Evra is a seasoned veteran who wears the captain's arm band in the absence of Nemanja Vidic while Young has not shown that he is a top-club talent since his move from Aston Villa in the summer of 2011.
Evra was seen as one of the best left-backs in the world but for the past two to three seasons; he has not been the same player running up and down the left flank providing an attacking threat while doing his defensive duties well.
He has struggled to discover any sort of form that he once showed and is now a liability to the Red Devils' defence. He has been caught out of position too often, gets beaten very easily and offers very little going forward.
He is certainly not at that level anymore to represent a club of the stature of Manchester United and if he stays at the club then teams will continue to target his side of the defence as they look to exploit the weak point in the Red Devils' armoury.
Sir Alex Ferguson wanted to bring in Alex Sandro from FC Porto while Moyes has failed to land Leighton Baines and Fabio Coentrao.
When Young signed for the Red Devils the English media was buzzing, stating that he will be a success for Ferguson's team. He started out quite well but just never looked a player who would survive at the highest level.
He has struggled to stay healthy and when he gets his chances he hardly ever impresses. He has scored just seven goals and managed just six assists since he moved to Old Trafford, stats that are just not good enough for a winger at a club like Manchester United.
Moyes has a fight on his hands to capture the signature a left-back, a couple of central midfielders and even a winger. The Red Devils' midfield has been fragile for quite some time and Moyes surely needs to add to the likes of Nani, Antonio Valencia, Adnan Januzaj, Shinji Kagawa and Danny Welbeck.
Wilfried Zaha has not had his chance just yet after impressing in pre-season while costing the club £15m.
