Chelsea fans must be questioning Sturridge departure

Niall Quinn believes Chelsea fans will be left questioning the club's decision to sell forward Daniel Sturridge.

The striker, who signed for Liverpool in January of this year, has made an exceptional start to the season and is currently the Premier League's top scorer with six goals.

The England international's latest goal came in a Liverpool 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace this past weekend, and the 24-year-old was a constant threat to the Premier League new-boys.

In comparison to Sturridge, the Blues strikers are yet to score a Premier League goal between them this season.

And, Quinn believes Chelsea fans will be left ruing the decision to have let Sturridge leave the club.

Speaking to Sky Sports Saturday Night Football Match Choice, Quinn said: "It's not just about the partnership, I think it's about Sturridge as well; he has probably got Chelsea fans looking at his goal tonight saying 'what were we doing letting this guy go?'.

After Sturridge's latest fine performance, the striker has now joined up with Roy Hodgson's England squad and he will be hoping to play a key role in the national sides two World Cup qualifiers against Montenegro and Poland.
