Chelsea scout Guy Hillion has revealed that the club are monitoring Belgian youngster Gianelli Imbula, reports the Daily Star.
The French Under-21 international had been previously linked with the Stamford Bridge outfit and is currently playing for Ligue 1 outfit Marseille.
And, Blues scout Guy Hillion has told Le 10 Sport that the club are keeping an eye on the star: "I have seen him often.
"As soon as he gets the ball he is able to accelerate and break through the lines.
"He covers well, has good technique, great vision of the game, with a very good quality pass and a great left foot."
However Imbula currently has a contract at the French side until 2018 so the Blues will have to work hard in order to secure the midfielder's services.
Mourinho has an array of midfield talent at his disposal but continues to look into improving his side for the long-term.
Three of Mourinho's midfield stars were on the scoresheet in the Blues' last fixture as Chelsea beat Norwich City 3-1 at Carrow Road, thanks to goals from Oscar, Eden Hazard and Willian.
So, if Imbula does eventually make the move to Stamford Bridge, he will have a fight on his hands to make the team.
