Premier League Team of the Week: October 5/6

.

Another round of Premier League fixtures have passed and it was another one that supplied sufficient intrigue for watching fans as to how it might all possibly pan out come mid May.

Arsenal remain top of the pile after a hard-fought draw at West Brom, only ahead of Liverpool by virtue of goals scored, but it was the emergence of a young talent at the Stadium of Light that really caught the eye.

18-year-old Adnan Januzaj's second half brace saved Manchester United from another embarrassing defeat after falling behind early on against bottom side Sunderland; two exquisite finishes have got people talking about this young Belgian-born attacker like Cristiano Ronaldo is re-born.

It may be in his best interests to be protected a bit by David Moyes over the next couple of weeks - it may also help avoid and expectation explosion, which will help GMS's mental health.

Manchester City brushed off a tough few days to end the only unbeaten run left in the Premier League by easing past Everton 3-1, though it wasn't an especially outstanding performance.

Chelsea handled a spirited Norwich City fightback, as well as another not entirely convincing performance, on Sunday afternoon to win it late on thanks to goals from substitutes Eden Hazard and Willian - the latter was a blinder too.

Southampton deserve a special mention for their fourth straight clean sheet in the 2-0 win over Swansea City to take them into the top four, mainly thanks to only letting in two goals in the seven games so far.

With all this in mind, GMS have picked out their  team of the weekend from the latest Premier League fixtures, with a modern 4-2-3-1 formation being applied.

As ever, let us know about your outrage over that player being left out, or, however unlikely, telling us we got it spot on in the comments section below...
