Manchester City starlet Abdisalam Ibrahim is a transfer target for a host of European clubs in January, according to Sky Sports.

The 22-year defensive midfielder is currently on loan at Norwegian outfit Stromsgodset and has been likened to former Arsenal and Manchester CIty star Patrick Vieira.

Newcastle, Sevilla, Espanyol, Real Betis, Lyon, Lille, Saint-Etienne, Bordeaux, Galatasaray and Fenerbahce have all been accredited with an interest in the Norway under-21 international.

Scouts are reported to have been impressed at the City midfielder's performances in the Norwegian Premier League and with his loan spell set to end in December, there could be a battle for his signature.

The Norway under-21 international's only experience in English football came back in 2011 after featuring 11 times for Scunthorpe.

Ibrahim's contract at City is due to run out in July and it is yet to be seen if new manager Manuel Pellegrini will offer the youngster new terms.
