Chelsea star Branislav Ivanovic has urged his side to ensure they continue their good form after the international break.

After their 3-1 win over Norwich yesterday, the Blues lay in third place in the Premier League table and are only two points off the top spot.

Chelsea are unbeaten in six in all competitions following their shock defeat 1-0 league defeat to Everton last month.

"When we're back from the national team, we have the very tight schedule of games," Ivanovic told Sky Sports

"I think we have to work very hard to be top, and use all the squad for these kind of games that are coming up for us.

"I think we are (heading) in the right way. When we're back from the national team, we have the very tight schedule of games.

Arsenal top table with 16 points from seven games but this season is likely to go down to the wire with Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City, Tottenham and Liverpool all looking to challenge for the title.

"This year is going to be a very tough, a very difficult league, every team will have a bad period and a good period. The important thing is in the bad period to take the points, and to stay (in contention)." added the Chelsea defender.

"Arsenal are doing well at the moment, but the season is a long one."

Chelsea return to league action on 19 October when they host Cardiff and then face Schalke (Champions League), Manchester City (Premier League) and Arsenal (League Cup) in the space of seven days.
