Thomas Eisfeld is a young, vibrant midfielder who showed what he is capable of by scoring the opening goal for Arsenal in their League Cup win over West Brom two weeks ago.
Eisfeld, a 20-year-old attacking midfielder, signed from Borussia Dortmund in the January transfer window of 2012, but has only made two appearances for the Gunners since.
The young German is filled with talent and charisma, and could be, in the next few years, the best player in his position on show in the Premier League. But not at Arsenal.
Wenger has so many options at the moment in his midfield, that young Eisfeld won’t get even get a look in unless it remains in cup games. Eisfeld will not be able to show his true talent and improve even more if he is not getting the game time he deserves.
Wenger saw the talent in the German when he signed him, but it would now be in Wenger’s best interest to let him go out on loan to a team in the Premier League where he will he get the game time he needs. Or maybe sell him all together.
If Eisfeld is to become the next big thing in the Premier League he will need to prove what he can do week in week out, and that is something he just can’t do at Arsenal at the moment, as he has at least eight midfielders in front of him bidding for a place on the starting line up.
I believe that Eisfield will be a sensational player in the next few years, but for him to achieve this, he’ll need to get out of Arsenal to another team before it’s too late.
