In the modern era, football matches are covered from every angle by media across the world, and the increase in technology has lead to a growing trend: YouTube channels dedicated to the game and its players. Here are five of the best.

 5) Zouzinho

Whilst making match compilations of individual player performances has become increasingly popular, Zouzinho is a pioneer. Currently on his sixth channel, he has amassed a wonderful collection of the greatest performances of the greatest playmakers of all time.

Kept artfully simple, his videos give a touch by touch presentation of each player at their peak, allowing viewers to truly appreciate the artistry of the individual. For any modern fan wanting to understand the genius of Cruyff or Maradona, Zouzinho's comps are good place to look.

Likewise to any aspiring midfield maestro, there is no better catalogue of tutorials from the greats like Socrates and Riquelme.

4) KaiiZoVideo

KaiiZo makes the sort of videos expected of a YouTube football channel: player highlight reels  showcasing their best skills, assists, and goals. Yet, there is something more appealing about the quality of his work.

Each video has a cinematic edge to it, from perfectly timed cuts, crystal clear HD quality, and perfectly chosen and blended soundtracks. His work covers all the best players currently gracing European football. The standout on his channel is his capturing of Robin van Persie's transfer to Manchester United.

 3) Rom007

Although a Cristiano Ronaldo and Real Madrid specialist, room007 has expanded his subject matter and offers the best highlights of Europe's elite players. Presented in stunning quality, his videos often take the format of "top 20" lists or ultimate skills compilations for an individual player but feature increasingly creative and topical themes. For example, his collection of back heel goals from Cristiano Ronaldo.

 2) HeilRJ

Barcelona's popularity and dominance of football in the YouTube era has led to an array of Barca dedicated channels, of which HeilRJ has recently emerged as the best.

His videos vary in style. At times he presents analysis of particular traits of individual Barcelona players, such as his delightful Iniesta comp "Iniesta Dribbling Magician".

Recently, his subject matter has extended from the genius graduates of La Masia and embraced more of the game's global legacy. He cements his place in the list with an incredibly creative and entertaining series "Footballers Are Awesome" which offers wonderful highlights of some of the most memorable moments in the history of the game.

1) AllasFCB

Genius. Allas is the godfather of football videos on YouTube. His elegant combinations of Spanish instrumentals, simple and classically edited Barcelona clips, and insightful analysis have set him apart.

He has fathered an entire style, with an array of imitators trying to mimic and/or repost his videos with their name. Amongst video editors he is held in the highest regard. Dubbed by his subscribers as Pep Guardiola in disguise or Pep's son, AllasFCB has contributed in depth analysis of what made Guardiola's Barca so great.

From his analysis of Alexis' off the ball movement to his How to Create Space Like Messi, Iniesta, and Xavi video he has offered coaches ready made tools to educate young players and fans a closer look at the genius behind Barca's art. Although he now uploads far less often and commits to shorter work, his older videos are absolute gems to be enjoyed by any lover of the beautiful game.
