Ashley Cole will miss England's vital clash against Montenegro on Friday after suffering a rib injury.
Roy Hodgson has called up Arsenal's Kieran Gibbs as cover for Leighton Baines, who is set to start against the Montenegrins.
Cole will remain at Stamford Bridge for further treatment - it is yet unclear if the left-back will be able to feature against Poland in England's last qualifier.
As for Gibbs, both of his caps for England have come from friendlies back in the reign of Fabio Capello - one against Hungary in 2010 where England won 2-1, before he played a 72-minute stint against France in which England lost 2-1.
England currently sit on 16 points, top of Group H, above Ukraine and Montenegro who sit behind on 15 points.
The Three Lions need to win both of their next games in order to automatically qualify for next summer's World Cup in Brazil.
A second-place finish would entail of a hard two-legged play-off as they look to seal their spot.
Realistically, the target for Roy's boys should be to win both games if possible, if they lose their games then next years spot is gone.
Good luck England!
