Napoli's on loan goalkeeper Pepe Reina has admitted he wants a move back to Spanish giants Barcelona after his loan spell ends, according to TalkSport.
The exiled Liverpool star started his career at Barcelona 14 years ago and made 30 first team appearances before a move to Villarreal in 2002.
It has been suggested that current Barca No.1, Victor Valdes, will leave the club when his contract expires in July, with Reina the obvious replacement.
The 31-year-old Spain international is certain not to return to Liverpool after Belgium keeper Simon Mignolet established himself as the new Anfield first choice between the sticks.
Reina told Catalunya Radio: "I would very much like to return to Barcelona. I'm delighted that my name has been suggested, but my goal now is to have a good season in Naples. And in the summer, we will see.
"Nothing is signed. I imagine that the club [Barcelona] has spoken with many and have several in the pipeline. We will see what happens next year with Victor Valdes."
Reina is the the Spain squad to play Belarus and Georgia in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers this week after he was picked ahead of in-form Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea by boss Vicente del Bosque.
But the third-choice keeper will still have to battle Valdes and Real Madrid's Iker Casillas for a starting role.
