Manchester United were rejected by PSV Eindhoven winger Zakaria Bakkali during the summer transfer window, according to the young Belgian himself.
The 17-year-old is regarded as one of the most exciting youngster operating on the continent, and his rapid rise has alerted some of Europe's most prominent clubs to his talents.
Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United have all been credited with interest in Bakkali and, the youngster claims, he has already been the subject of an approach from the Premier League champions.
Manchester United are one of two clubs supposed to have made offers for Bakkali over the summer months, but the player was content to stay with Eindhoven.
“Yes, I had offers from club all over Europe," he confirmed to reporters.
When asked specifically if Manchester United have been in contact, he added: “Yes that’s right.”
Bakkali is set to make is full international debut for Belgium this week after the teenager was selected by manager Marc Wilmots for the World Cup qualifiers with Croatia and Scotland.
The player had been eligible to represent Morocco, but opted to accept the opportunity to make his first senior appearance for Belgium.
