AC Milan defender Philippe Mexes has been given a three-game ban after he was seen punching Juventus's Giorgio Chiellini in the neck during his side's Serie A clash.
The referee missed the incident which occurred during a corner, but the Rossonero defender saw red anyway having seen yellow twice, meaning the centre-back will receive a further one-match ban.
Juve' ran out 3-2 winners, while Mexes' extended ban will hit AC coach Massimiliano Allegri especially hard given the Italian's injury crisis in defence.
Allegri is already without Ignazio Abate, Daniele Bonera, Matias Silvestre and Mattia De Sciglio, with French international Mexes to miss the league games against Udinese, Parma, Lazio and Fiorentina.
Two Sulley Muntari goals failed to prove enough at the Juventus Stadium as Sebastian Giovinco, Andrea Pirlo and Chiellini gave the Turin side the win.
The defeat leaves Milan floundering in 12th place while Juventus maintained their unbeaten league run.
And it's not just their players that are in trouble - following a decision by the sporting judge to close the San Siro for their next game due to crowed trouble.
Milan have confirmed they will appeal against the decision that involves their home game against Udinese on October 19.
