Can you name the best XI in the world? You could ask that question to one hundred people and the chances that two line-ups will be the same is next to none.

I'm not asking to name the best team in the world - for me that is Bayern Munich, no doubt about it. They have basically gone from the best team in Europe, to adding two of the best young players in world football in Thiago Alcantara and Mario Gotze. Mix that with the best manager in Europe and you have got the best combination possible.

Try and name your best eleven - I bet at least 10 people will disagree with pretty much every position. I have named mine below, and explained each selection.

I am hoping this starts arguments and discussions but for me, football should get people discussing, thats the point as fans, isn't it?

Goalkeeper: Manuel Neuer

This was a difficult choice. Being a Manchester City fan, I found it difficult to not put Joe Hart in here, plus on recent form he probably doesn't deserve it, although he is still one of the best.

Mentions go out to Thibaut Courtois, on loan to Atletico Madrid from Chelsea, who in the near future will become the world's number one.

Right-back: Philipp Lahm

Again, a pretty difficult choice. I could have gone with Dani Alves of Barca but I don't think he is a particularly good defender.

Pablo Zabaleta has definitely become one of the most consistent recently, but Lahm is by far the best.

Centre-back: Vincent Kompany

You might say this is a bias opinion and you would probably be right, but I have to say, Kompany has become one of, if not the best centre-backs in world football.

Centre-back: Thiago Silva

Being an avid watcher of all football, I watched Silva at Milan and he was excellent.

He is strong, quick and probably ousts Kompany as the best defender in world football - in my opinion, of course.

Left-back: Ashley Cole

The first player that I am hoping will get a response. I agree in the fact not many people like him, but you can't escape the fact that he is a world class left-back.

Plus, I am struggling to find another player even close to his level.

Right-midfield: Andres Iniesta

Not particularly a right-midfielder but I have to say, he is one of the best footballers in the world.

Watching him play is a joy and I had to put him in the team somewhere.

Centre-midfield: Yaya Toure

As above, you could say this is down to me being a City fan but for me Yaya has established himself as possibly the best midfielder in the Premier League.

Centre-midfield: Bastian Schweinsteiger

This was extremely difficult to choose - Xavi and Steven Gerrard pushed extremely close but for me the German makes it in.

He is the ultimate midfielder; he wins the ball, can pass, shoot and take people on. Sensational player.

Left-midfield: Cristiano Ronaldo

Don't think I need to explain this one really...

Striker: Lionel Messi

Again, no words needed. Best player in the world at the moment and possibly the best ever.

Striker: Sergio Aguero

Now here, I am blessed. I get to watch 'Kun' play every week and I honestly couldn't wish to watch any other player.

When you see him training on City TV and even in his warm-up, he is so laid back it is untrue.

Then he walks out onto the pitch and runs the show. He is easily my favourite player ever so I had to put him in.

How about this - name your team below. I will add up the votes and let's see who gets into the best XI players in world football based on current form.
