Levski Sofia’s new manager, Ivaylo Petev, might be wishing he’d said ‘no’ when the call came offering him the job.
Petev has replaced Slavisa Jokanovic at the helm of the Bulgarian club, after the Serb was given his marching orders following a poor start to the season at the Georgi Asparuhov Stadium.
But, far from receiving a warm welcome from both the media and supporters, the new boss was greeted by ‘Ultras’ just a few minutes into his first unveiling.
Sofia’s ‘fans’ are thought to believe that Petev is a fan of arch-rivals CSKA Sofia, and clearly do not want him to wear the kit of their beloved team.
How they managed to storm the press conference itself will surely be a concern to the club, as will the lack of security and their ability to literally take the shirt off the new manager’s back.
On the plus side, they did give the gear back to a senior Levski official at the end of the conference - how kind!
