Arsenal are being linked with a shock move for Aston Villa goalkeeper Brad Guzan, according to reports.
MLSsoccer.com claims that the Gunners are keeping tabs on the USA international, who has made a fine start to the season under Paul Lambert at Villa Park.
Indeed, the 29-year-old was in top form on the opening day of the season at the Emirates Stadium, helping his side to an impressive 3-1 win over the current Premier League leaders.
Arsene Wenger was linked with a number of keepers during the summer transfer window, with Julio Cesar and Tim Krul mooted as potential targets.
However, the Arsenal boss drafted in Emiliano Viviano on loan, with the former Italian international serving as back-up to Wojciech Szczesny.
The Pole appears to have made steady improvement with the Gunners this summer, and has been impressive in the opening weeks of the season for the side from north London.
That hasn’t stopped speculation over the Arsenal manager looking to improve in the position though, and Guzan is now another name in the frame.
His next outing for Aston Villa will come after the international break, when Tottenham Hotspur make the trip to the Midlands.
