Ravel Morrison is set to secure a new contract in January after a brilliant start to the season according to ESPN.

The 20-year-old scored a wonder goal against Tottenham last week in their 3-0 win at White Hart Lane.

The Hammer's are attempting to remove a £19 million release clause that was installed by Morrison in his current deal.

The former Birmingham City loanee joined West Ham from Manchester united in January 2012 for a initial fee of £650,000, however the fee may rise to £2 million if the midfielder plays a certain amount of games.

It is expected that the starlet will see his wages rise from £12,000-a-week to £65,000, and has the potential to be more if the release clause is removed.

United sold the player, who has now hit four goals in eight games this season, over concerns about his attitude despite the  potential they saw in the player.

Morrison has been included in England's squad for the European Under-21 Championship qualifiers against San Marino and Lithuania.
