Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic believes that new signing Willian can strike fear into any rival team this season.
The Brazilian winger joined the Blues this summer in a £30million move after talks with fellow London side Tottenham Hotspur broke down.
And the former Anzhi Makhachkala man repaid the faith shown to him by Jose Mourinho by scoring his first goal in Chelsea colours in the 3-1 victory over Norwich on Saturday.
And defender Ivanovic told The Sun: “Willian showed he can only get better. We expect a lot from him. His goal is very important for him.”
The Serbian international is adamant that Chelsea’s quality from the bench is also a factor that could help drive them towards the Premier League title this season.
“We have quality on the bench, whichever 11 players the manager picks to start, you always have on the bench a couple of guys who can change the game,” he added.
With the Premier League title race closer than ever, Ivanovic knows that winning games during tricky periods is the key to success.
“This year is going to be very tough, a difficult league. I think every team will have a good period and a bad period. The important thing is, in the bad period, to take the points and stay up there.”
