Matthew Le Tissier has backed up Jack Wilshere's claims that Adnan Januzaj should not represent England, reports talkSPORT.

Roy Hodgson recently admitted that England are interested in securing the services of the Belgian-born starlet as he could play for the Three Lions because of FIFA residency rules.

However, much debate has taken place over whether it would be right for the Manchester United youngster to represent England.

Jack Wilshere recently stated that only people from England should represent the national side.
And, former England striker Le Tissier has backed up Wilshere's claims.

Speaking to the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show, the Southampton legend claimed: "I think the rules have changed too much. It is far too flexible for me.

"You should play for the country you are born in, or where your mum and dad were born. Once you start going beyond those borders, it becomes a bit of a joke."

England are currently preparing for two crunch World Cup qualifiers at Wembley as they play host to Montenegro and then Poland.

However, the debate over the future of England players looks set to continue.

Do you agree with Wilshere and Le Tissier or do you think players like Januzaj should represent England? Comment below!
