Brendan Rodgers is spending his second year at Anfield and he seems to be really enjoying it. After a first year that was kind of an adjustment period for both the team and Rodgers, Liverpool seem to have found the manager who will lead the team to the title.
So far in his career as a manager, Rodgers has always showed hard work and results. He always tries to teach his team the football he likes and this inevitably requires time.
His first season at Anfield was the teaching one and now, in the second year, we are seeing a totally different Liverpool. Rodgers chose to sign mostly young players and teach them his football from scratch.
During his first season he signed Daniel Sturridge, Philippe Coutinho, Joe Allen and Fabio Borini - all of them youngsters. During his second season, he has evidently realised that the team needs some experience and he signed Tiago Llori, Luis Alberto, Mamadou Sakho, Victor Moses, Iago Aspas, Aly Cissokho, Simon Mignolet and Kolo Toure - thus equipping his squad with experience.
This season, Liverpool are not involved in any European competition so they have the chance to focus on the Premier League. This gives Liverpool the chance to be even more competitive due to having little to no distractions.
Up until now Liverpool, seem to be playing the football that Rodgers wants and the team is full of energy and winning spirit. The only problem is that there seem to be no players capable of replacing Luis Suarez in the attacking line Coutinho in the playmaker role.
Until now, Rodgers has worked on solutions but I believe that during the winter transfer window the Reds should buy one or two players that could replace them. If Rodgers manages to find a solution, I think that this season Liverpool are going to be the favourite for the Premier League title.
