Juventus are trying to lure Nemanja Vidic away from Manchester United and see him as becoming their new Andrea Pirlo.

According to Tuttosport, the Serie A champions are desperate to convince the Old Trafford captain that his future lies in Italy and feel he still has plenty to offer a top side in Europe.

A number of commentators have questioned whether Vidic can still maintain the level of performance he has produced for most of his time in the Premier League after a litany of injury problems over the past couple of seasons.

Manchester United's win over Sunderland was noted for the two goals by debutant Adnan Januzaj to save David Moyes' side and claim all three points after falling behind early on in the match.

However, a Vidic mistake as an influence on Sunderland's goal and it was not one of his vintage displays, which has been said more than once so far this season.

He is yet to agree a new deal at Manchester United and Juventus are hoping the 31-year-old will reject any extension to move to Turin once his contract expires in the summer.

Vidic will turn 32 late this month, which is the same age Andrea Pirlo was when AC Milan released him to sign for Juventus as a free agent and he led the Bianconeri to an incredible undefeated Scudetto.

This report claims Juventus director general Guiseppe Marotta believes the Manchester United star can have a similar impact as the Italy, who has been sensational since joining Antonio Conte's side.
