Barcelona president Sandro Rosell has openly declared his admiration of Chelsea starlet Thubaut Courtois.

Rosell is said to be a big fan of the Belgium goalkeeper, who is currently playing for Atletico Madrid for third consecutive season.

During his spell at Atletico, Courtois has impressed and looks like the Belgium international could be ready to replace Victor Valdes - whose contract runs out in the summer.

"He is a great goalkeeper, he is very good and I like him a lot," Rosell told Sky Sports.

But added: "Up until the last moment we will try to keep Valdes at Barca, but it will be difficult."

Yet Valdes has said more than once that he wants a new challenge after 12 seasons with the Catalans.

Courtois, on the other hand, has yet to play a game for Chelsea after his move for £5m in 2011.

The keeper could get frustrated and make the switch to Nou Camp, if he continues to be overlooked by Blues' boss Jose Mourinho.

An offer of around £25m could be enough for Chelsea to let their young keeper go to Barcelona in the summer transfer window.
