The eccentric boss received the suspension for his actions in their 2-1 defeat away to Napoli.
Following an injury to Dortmund defender Neven Subotic, the player's return to the field was delayed, prompting a tirade of abuse from Klopp towards the fourth official.
The home side went on to score as the Serbian defender remained on the sidelines - angering Klopp further.
Though the Bundesliga side rallied to score an 87th minute consolation, they slipped to defeat as coach Klopp watched from the changing-room having been sent to the stands.
Last season's beaten finalists face a tricky tie away at the Emirates, with the Gunners currently leading the group and in impressive form both domestically and in Europe.
Should Dortmund lose in north London, Klopp's men will be facing an uphill struggle to qualify to the knock-out stages, with an all-important return game against Arsenal their next fixture.
In Klopp's absence, assistant manager Zeljko Buvac will take charge of the side.
The German's right-hand man proved a more than adequate replacement in Dortmund's last Champions league fixture, guiding the side to a comfortable 3-0 victory over French side Marseille.
