Liverpool centre-back Martin Skrtel believes summer-signing Mamadou Sakho has shown his quality already for Liverpool and praised the Frenchman for how quickly he has settled.
Since making his debut against Swansea following his deadline-day move, Sakho has forged a strong partnership with Skrtel, aiding the Reds' early season form.
From his time captaining Paris Saint-Germain as a 17-year-old, most people have been aware of the athletic defender and the qualities he possesses.
And defensive partner Skrtel is pleased the 23-year-old France international has joined the club.
"He is still young but he's an experienced player," Skrtel told Liverpoolfc.com.
"He's a French international and he's played many games for PSG.
"In the games he has started he has shown how good he is, he's fitted into the team well and he's doing well at the moment."
The Parisian, of Senegalese decent, can also deputise at left-back - something he may be asked to do should Brendan Rodgers have difficulty rotating his three other senior centre-backs Kolo Toure, Daniel Agger and Skrtel.
However, Skrtel is happy for Sakho and hopes his good form continues.
"I'm happy for him and happy for the team because he is a good player for us. I just hope things carry on this way."
Sakho cost Liverpool in excess of £15million and has recently expressed his surprise at his large price-tag.
