Juventus are keeping an eye on Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic's situation and the possibility of him being signed on a free transfer next summer.
The Serie A giants went through a similar process whilst signing Spanish striker Fernando Llorente once his contract expired, he moved to Italy for free.
Vidic, who is set to turn 32 later this month, could see his time at Manchester United come to an end should his deal not be renewed by June 2014.
Whilst United manager David Moyes has stated his intention for the club and to negotiate a new deal this autumn with the club's captain, reports suggest that the player could be reluctant to re-sign.
It is a situation that has Juventus as one of many clubs monitoring the Serbian and the Italian giants may have a slight advantage over the rest.
It is suggested that should Vidic get into February and not have his contract renewed, director general Beppe Marotta is optimistic of closing a deal with the player's agent, Silvano Martina.
Martina is seen to have a decent relationship with Juventus, due to his representation of their veteran goalkeeper, Gianluigi Buffon.
Should Juventus seize the opportunity and get Nemanja Vidic on a free transfer, this could bolster their defence as they look to defend their Serie A title against many strong contenders this season.
