Despite having a good reputation, England frankly have no chance at next year’s World Cup in Brazil - and anyone who believes they do is deluded.

Despite being one of the big names on the international stage, England’s current crop of players don’t have the quality to succeed at next year’s World Cup, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they went out in the group stages.

Smaller countries like Belgium, Croatia, Columbia and even Boznia & Herzgovinia are starting to come through, leaving England behind with their results.

When you compare the starting 11 of England to countries like Germany, Brazil and Spain you can see why England are struggling. When Joe Hart, despite being in abysmal form, is still a sure starter you have to be worried.

Another worrying factor is the Adnan Januzaj desperation. The 18-year-old Belgian is being pinned as England’s next hope even though he has 10 other countries he can play for before England. Not only this, but he has played only three professional games, so why is he seen as the next big thing? This, in my eyes, shows real desperation from the England camp.

England are known as one of the biggest footballing nations in the world, so why do they currently lack what many other countries have?

Well, firstly, the FA’s decision to choose Roy Hodgson over Harry Redknapp was puzzling to say the least - and it has come back to haunt them.

Hodgson has made a fatal error in not giving a back-up goalkeeper game time in a friendly; he therefore must play the out of sorts Hart in the final qualifying games.

This, along with the decision to include Jermain Defoe in the 23-man squad to face Poland and Montenegro, despite his lack of competitive football, when someone like Darren Bent would be in much better shape for the clash

To conclude, many different aspects have brought the current England national football team to its knees, and it could take a while to recover.

How do you think England will fare at next year’s World Cup?
