Samuel Eto'o

Eto'o was never going to serve as anything other than a temporary solution to a striking problem that has plagued Mourinho since his arrival.

However the fact that the Special One decided to pay £5million for him to lead the line when he had Romelu Lukaku, Torres and Demba Ba at his disposal is a clear indication that he thought the Cameroonian was still good enough.

Whether it's just taking him a while to adapt to the physicality of the league, something that Eto'o has claimed, or whether it's that his age is catching up with him, the 32-year-old looks half the player he once was.

He has so far been disappointing in Chelsea colours, and despite the fact he hasn't played the highest-standard of football since his days at Inter Milan, Eto'o needs to get better if he wants to retain his starting berth.
