Manchester United and Manchester City will go head-to-head for the signature of highly-rated Norwegian goalkeeper Kjetil Haug, reports the Daily Mail.
The 15-year-old - who is currently on the books at Sarpsborg - has been tipped for a bright future in the game, and as a result has attracted widespread interest from the Premier League.
Haug underwent a trial at Old Trafford at the end of September, and is understood to have impressed Red Devils scouts, so much so that he was even invited to spend time training with senior goalkeepers David de Gea and Anders Lindegaard.
However, Manchester United are yet to tie down the talented teenager, who is set to train with Manchester City for a three-day spell later this month, having also received enquiries from Arsenal and Everton.
The Scandinavian stopper is understood to favour a move to the reigning Premier League champions, but until a contract is signed, there is an inevitable amount of doubt surrounding the future of the 'next Peter Schmeichel' as he has been billed in the media.
