Arsenal could be set to lose experienced French defender Bacary Sagna, according to the Daily Mail.

The 30-year-old international has less than a year left on his current contract and he can leave for free at the end of the season. The Gunners are said to be keen to keep hold of one of their most experienced men but he could be looking for a new challenge.

The Mail also understands that Sagna has privately acknowledged that this would be his final season at the club and is preparing for life away from London. The Frenchman looked to be on his way out in the last transfer window - only for Arsene Wenger to persuade him to stay on for another season.

The former Auxerre man had started every league game for Arsenal until he was struck by a hamstring injury, which will keep him out for three weeks. He has been back to his best after mixed performances for the club last season.

A number of clubs including Paris St Germain, Monaco, Galatasaray and Fenerbache are believed to be monitoring the situation closely.
