AC Milan are set to sign Manchester United target, Adil Rami, from Valencia in January.
It was reported on Tuesday morning that Milan were in talks with the player and Valencia over a proposal to sign the 27-year-old centre-back in the winter transfer window on a six-month loan deal.
Rami reportedly met with Milan officials and it is understood that an agreement has been reached with all parties.
Alongside the player accepting the deal, Milan have also accepted a request from the Spanish club to take on Rami's full wages from the start of January up until the end of the season.
It is also understood that the Italians have agreed to a 7m purchase option to then make the deal permanent next summer.
If the player shows he's capable, Milan would sign the player to a four-year-deal.
Whilst Milan will only take up payment of the player's wages after registering him in January, it has been made clear that he will leave Valencia immediately.
This comes shortly after the French defender openly criticised his coach and teammates, and questioned the management skills of Miroslav Djukic after admitting says he does not speak to the boss.
Rami has not played a game for Valencia since he made these remarks in late September.
A deal for this defender for Milan could prove vital and give them a slight edge in pushing for a Champions League spot.
