Messi stars in brand new Pepsi advert

Published Add your comment

Back in 2000, France legend - and now the head of UEFA - Michel Platini famously said: "What Zidane does with a ball, Maradona could do with an orange."

Well, in the future he might instead refer to Lionel Messi and a can of Pepsi.

The Barcelona and Argentina forward stars in a brand new advert, inspiring everyday folk around the world to try and juggle a can of Pepsi with their feet.

Not an entirely practical thing to do if you want to drink it, sure, but impressive nevertheless.

Messi starts off by balancing the can on his left foot before flicking it up and taking a swig. We then see people in various places - tube stations, on five-a-side courts, that sort of thing - attempting more outrageous skills with their, presumably empty, cans of Pepsi.

Finally, after 30 seconds, it ends with the advert's slogan "Live For Now" and a shot of Messi with the hashtag #FUTBOLNOW.
