Many people are suggesting that this season's Premier League title race will be the closest one yet.

I agree on some level as the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City, and Tottenham Hotspur have improved their squads massively over the summer.

Although Manchester United only signed one player in Marouane Fellaini, they are the champions of England and can't be ruled out this season.

Liverpool have improved and I would expect them to do well and Arsenal have made a couple of vital additions in the form of Mesut Özil and Mathieu Flamini.

However, the question on everyone's mind is: Who has the best squad in the Premier League?

Here, GMS Academy member Freddie Sumsion, takes a look at the depth of Arsenal's squad and analyses their strengths and weaknesses.

Arsenal Squad:

GK - Szczesny, Viviano, Fabianski

RB - Sagna, Jenkinson

LB - Gibbs, Monreal

CB - Mertesacker, Koscielny, Vermaelen

DM - Flamini, Arteta

CM - Ramsey, Wilshere, Diaby

AM - Özil, Rosicky

RM - Walcott, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Gnabry

LM - Santi Cazorla, Podolski

ST - Giroud, Bendtner, Sanogo

Signings Mesut Özil and Mathieu Flamini were much needed for Arsenal and they are both quality additions, providing Arsenal with enough midfield depth to cause teams many problems.

Emiliano Viviano has given Wojciech Szczesny much to think about in regards to his inconsistency but questions remain over whether the Italian is good enough to take Szczesny's place.

When everyone is fit, Arsenal's starting line-up is without doubt good enough to beat any team, with Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny forming a solid partnership at the back and Olivier Giroud proving he has all the attributes to be one of the best strikers in the Premier League.

As mentioned, the Arsenal starting line-up can be devastating, however, with one or two injuries to key players the squad depth comes under scrutiny.

It is clear that despite the fact that Bacary Sagna can play at centre-back, they need a fourth centre-back who is natural in that position. This could be fixed in January and I would expect Arséne Wenger to do so.

Also in January, Arsenal need a striker. They seemed close to securing Demba Ba on loan from Chelsea on deadline day, and a loan would be good enough until the end of the season but Olivier Giroud, despite his class, cannot handle the burden of being Arsenal's only striker.

Prediction: 4th
