Manchester United

While Chelsea's start may have been slightly underwhelming, United's has been positively disastrous. With new boss David Moyes struggling in his attempts to succeed the iconic figure of Sir Alex Ferguson, the Red Devils missed out on a number of transfer targets during the summer and have endured a woeful start to the new domestic campaign.

In midfield, United have been rather poor. While combative Belgian international Marouane Fellaini is yet to find his best role at Old Trafford, Tom Cleverley, Shinji Kagawa and Anderson have all been disappointing.

Do they need him?

Moyes' midfield requires significant strengthening, that much is for sure. However, with the impressive Michael Carrick being perhaps the closest thing England has to a deep-lying midfielder in the Pirlo style, they may choose to focus their intentions on a younger, incisive attacking threat who can play further up the pitch.
