Arsenal star Mesut Ozil has revealed that compatriot and Gunners teammate Per Metersacker has been teaching him a few lessons to help him adapt to driving in London.

German playmaker Ozil, who joined the club from La Liga giants Real Madrid for a reported fee of £42.5 million on transfer deadline day, has been a revelation during the early stages of his career at the Emirates Stadium and, along with in-form Welshman Aaron Ramsey, has provided the catalyst for Arsenal's recent excellent form.

Former Werder Bremen star Ozil has admitted that he has fallen in love with the English capital, but has enlisted the help of the formidable centre-back to cope with the challenges of adapting to life on the road in a foreign country.

"Driving on the left-hand side, I thought it would be much more difficult than it really is. But Per Mertesacker gave me some 'driving lessons' and they helped me, so I can drive there," he was quoted by the Daily Star.

"London is an interesting city to live in. I have grown to love the place in a short space of time. The guys in the Arsenal team and the coaching staff are fully behind me. They have given me great responsibility and that's what I feel great about."

Arsenal, under the tutelage of long-serving boss Arsene Wenger, have bounced back in fine style from a humiliating opening day defeat to Paul Lambert's Aston Villa and the Gunners currently sit top of the Premier League, ahead of Liverpool on goal difference.

Following their tense but entertaining 1-1 draw against West Brom at The Hawthorns on Sunday, Wenger's men return to domestic action following the upcoming international break at home to Norwich City on October 19.
