John Barnes | Jamaica to England

The man who scored that famous solo goal against Brazil in 1984 spent the majority of his childhood in Jamaica.

Jamaican-born John Barnes moved to England as a young 12-year-old, later going on to impress in the English league with Liverpool.

In a 10 year stint at Anfield, Barnes scored 84 goals from midfield whilst also gaining 79 caps for England scoring 11.
