Julio Jones ruled out for season
Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones will miss the rest of the season with a foot injury
Atlanta Falcons' wide receiver Julio Jones will miss the rest of the 2013 season after being told he must undergo surgery on a fractured foot this Monday.
Jones sustained the injury in Atlanta's 30-28 defeat to the Jets on Monday night and was told by two doctors that he has suffered a fracture.
"Unfortunately, Julio's appointment with the doctor today confirmed our initial findings," coach Mike Smith said in a statement. "He is scheduled to have a season-ending procedure on [Oct. 13]."
The news comes as a huge blow to the Falcons, whose leading receiver is the injured Jones.
However, ESPN.com report that the Atlanta-based outfit have agreed terms with free-agent receiver Brian Robiskie, who will sign a one-year contract to temporarily replace the man who boasts the league's most receptions.
Robiskie, who is the son of Falcons' assistant head coach Terry Robiskie, will take a place on the team's roster while Jones is placed on the season-ending injured reserve list.
