Newcastle United are set to be boosted by the return of centre back Steven Taylor to the Toon squad, reports Sky Sports.
The former England-under 21 international has not featured since the first day of the season.
The 27-year-old was sent-off during the 4-0 opening day defeat at the hands of Manchester City and further disappointed his manager by suffering a hamstring injury.
The ban and the injury means Taylor has missed Newcastle's last eight games - but is set to return ahead of their home Premier League encounter with Liverpool on October 19.
Newcastle fans will have added reason to celebrate with the news that promising French left-back, Massadio Haidara, is also set to return after a lengthy layoff.
The 20-year-old has had a constant knee problem since the summer, but was lucky not to suffer a more serious injury earlier on in the season - after being on the end of a dangerous tackle by Wigan's Callum McManaman - that resulted in the young Toon defender being stretchered off.
With Taylor and Haidara set to bolster the Newcastle defensive ranks, there could be a reshuffle in Pardew's back-line when they welcome a high-scoring Liverpool side to St.James' Park next week.
