Feyenoord are set to offer Arsenal target Daryl Janmaat a new contract amidst strong interest from the Premier League club, reports talkSPORT.
The Gunners are said to be assessing their options regarding the possibility of signing a new right-back in the wake of speculation marking Bacary Sagna with a move away from the Emirates at the end of the season, with Janmaat is said to be high on their list of targets.
It now transpires that the Feyenoord are hoping to tie their Dutch star to a new long-term deal, with Juventus, amongst others, also showing intent to lure him away.
At 24-years-old Janmaat could be the perfect replacement for the potentially outgoing Sagna, despite the Dutchman's representative, Karel Jansen, stating that his client would be open to remaining in Rotterdam beyond the expiry of his current deal in 2015.
He said: "I’ve heard rumours that he is being watched by Italian clubs, but there is nothing concrete.
”We are open to discussions with Feyenoord for a contract renewal, it would be a nice show of appreciation from the club. I will see if this contact occurs to decide whether or not to continue with Feyenoord.”
Feyenoord are currently sitting 4th in the Dutch Eredivisie whilst Arsenal have maintained their spot at the summit of the Premier League heading into the international break.
