Barcelona are considering a January move for Arsenal target Juan Camilo Zuniga, according to Catalan Daily Sport.

27-year-old Zuniga, who joined current club Napoli from Siena in 2009, has been in impressive form for Rafael Benitez's title hopefuls and as such he was widely linked with a switch away from Stadio San Paolo during the summer.

Reportedly among his list of potential suitors were Arsene Wenger's Arsenal, who currently sit top of the Premier League after bouncing back in superb style from an opening day defeat at the hands of Aston Villa to amass 16 points from their subsequent six fixtures.

Despite their alleged interest, however, the Gunners did not complete a deal for Zuniga prior to the close of the transfer window and the Colombian international was eventually convinced to sign a new deal with the Serie A outfit.

However, although Zuniga extended his contract to remain with Napoli until 2018 with a release fee set at an eye-watering €45 million, it also reportedly included a clause that would allow him to leave for a reduced price of €15 million should Barcelona make an approach for his services.

And, according to Sport, they could be set to do just that after allegedly seeking reports on the defender prior to any potential discussions over a deal.
