Put plainly, Portugal don't possess half the threat without Ronaldo that they do with him and the Madrid ace more often than not pulls his team to success. 

The European giants to have a number of gifted players in their squad, but Ronaldo stands out like a shining beacon when it comes to his effort and contributions to the team. 

Having played 106 times already, scoring 43 goals in the process, Ronaldo is set to become the most successful Portuguese national of all time, eclipsing greats like Eusebio and Figo along the way.

If Ronaldo has a bad game, so does his team.
