Manchester City star wanted by Roma

Published Add your comment

Roma are set to make a move for Manchester City defender Micah Richards, according to talkSPORT.

The Citizens star has struggled to hold down a place in the side in recent years and has only made two appearances for Manuel Pellegrini's team so far this season.

Newcastle had also been credited with interest in the star, but now the Italian giants are ready to make a move for the English international in January.

And, with Roma's Nicolas Burdisso expected to depart the club, Richards looks the ideal replacement for the Italian outfit.

The star, who has been left out of Roy Hodgson's England squad for their crucial World Cup qualifying matches, will be desperate for first-team football as he looks to make his way back onto the international scene.

It's not yet known if Richards would rather stay in England or make the move abroad, but interest remains high in the powerful defender.
