Rick Nash missed the New York Rangers' clash with the Anaheim Ducks after suffering a head injury during a 9-2 defeat to the San Jose Sharks, reports ESPN.
The star picked up the injury after a clash with Sharks star Brad Stuart. The defenseman gave an illegal check to the head, consequently taking Nash out of the game. And, with Nash out for the Rangers, Stuart was given a three game suspension, according to NHL's Department of Player Safety.
Nash was sent back to New York, having no option but to miss the rest of the West Coast trip for the Rangers.
And, after the Rangers' latest defeat, coach Alain Vigneault will be desperate for victory against the St. Louis Blues on Saturday.
Nash has joined Carl Hagelin on the sidelines as the winger is a long-term casualty. The Rangers will quickly be hoping to turn things around, starting this weekend.
