Andros Townsend put in a sublime performance on his debut for England as they beat Montenegro 4-1 and moved a step closer to direct qualification for the 2014 World Cup.
The Tottenham midfielder scored a superb solo goal to make it 3-1 in the second-half and was also involved in Wayne Rooney's goal, who made it 1-0 just after the break.
From the beginning of the match, England constantly threatened Montenegro's defence and in the 8th minute Wayne Rooney got close to scoring, but a big deflection from Kecojevic saw the Englishman's effort went wide.
In the 22nd minute Danny Welbeck forced a fine save from Poleksic.
Just after the half hour, Poleksic again had to save. Kyle Walker made a great cross-field pass to Leighton Baines, who found Steven Gerrard. The Liverpool captain produced a powerful shot, but was again denied by the Montenegro goalkeeper.
Four minutes later, again Gerrard's shot was saved by Poleksic. This time Townsend and Rooney did well to make the chance for Gerrard.
In the 40th minute, Rooney hit the post. Townsend's drive was saved in the first place, but Rooney got a chance from a small angle, but only hit the post.
In the end of the first half had a two chances to score, but Montenegro managed to held the 0-0 draw.
Just two minutes after the break, Rooney smashed the ball home after Welbeck's shot was saved.
It was Townsend whose great run on the right made space for Welbeck and his shot was somehow kept out by Poleksic, but then Rooney drove the ball home to make it 1-0.
Just before the hour-mark Joe Hart had to make a brilliant save to keep his clean sheet intact. Damjanovic made a headed effort after a free-kick, but Hart saved it well.
In the 62th minute Boskovic made it 2-0. Daniel Sturridge raced on to a lovely backheel from Welbeck and Boskovic was unlucky to put the ball past his own keeper.
England kept pressing, but Montenegro pulled one back after Damjanovic scored.
Yet in the 78th minute Androw Townsend put the game to bed with a stunning goal.
The debutant got the ball in the center of the pitch, ran past several men, before smashing the ball home from around 25 yards.
In added time, Sturridge was recklessly fouled by Kecojevic. The Liverpool forward stepped behind the ball and made it 4-1.
