Aaron Ramsey must stay a Gunner for life

Arsenal are playing exceptionally well, mainly due to their broad options in midfield.

Arsene Wenger currently has a selection headache. The competition for places in the Arsenal team is bringing the best out of their players and the two signings Mathieu Flamini and Mesut Ozil are to thank for the competition.

Arsenal were screaming out for a marquee signing this summer and boy did they get one. Ozil arrived at the Emirates Stadium to inject creativity in to the side, an element of their game Arsenal believed was missing. However, every one of the Gunners' midfield players have created some marvellous chances and have also found the back of the net themselves.

Flamini also arrived at the Emirates this summer and although his price tag did not suggest he would have a major impact, he certainly has.

Flamini has been the anchorman of the Arsenal midfield, and has been stupendous for the club with his defensive duties, while his passing has been extremely accurate and effective.

However, the star of the show has been another midfielder: Aaron Ramsey. The Welshman has been the star performer so far, scoring eight goals this season already. Ramsey's all-round performances have been electric and have just won him the Premier League's Player of the Month award.

In the past Arsenal stars have departed the Emirates Stadium and headed for slightly brighter destinations but most have not been successful. The likes of Alex Song and Cesc Fabregas have not been entirely successful since leaving. Although Fabregas and Song are still fantastic players they have not been able to cement their spot in the Barcelona side.

Arsenal are also an ambitious club and want to move forward. They sit top of the Premier League table for the time being and are serious title contenders.

Ramsey must stay at Arsenal to make sure he continues to progress as a player. Sitting on the bench for another team would only hinder his progress. Ramsey's career has been affected heavily by unfortunate injuries and to maintain his form this season would be a great stepping stone for him to become one of the best players in his position.

Ramsey's goals have only filled him with confidence and he now plays with more freedom and self belief.

Last year fellow Welshman Gareth Bale had an unbelievable season and resulted in him joining Spanish giants Real Madrid. Bale's high profile move has provided him with a lot of expectation and pressure, something that many young players find hard to play with.

Ramsey's explosive form will have raised a few eyebrows and the same teams that wanted to lure Bale will surely be looking at trying to purchase his Wales teammate, too. However, for Ramsey to reach or surpass his expected potential he needs to remain at Arsenal.
