Robin van Persie - 11 goals

After netting an incredible 36 goals in all competitions last season, it's no surprise that Manchester United striker Robin van Persie is Europe's highest-scoring player in World Cup qualifying so far.

Van Persie's 11 goals in eight games for the Netherlands have secured a place at the World Cup finals in Brazil next year. The Dutchman's club form has been a little indifferent at the start of the season, but a hat-trick in Friday's 8-1 mauling of Hungary may provide the boost to kick on his Manchester United goalscoring.
