Speaking to French TV station Telefoot, Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes has told reporters he sees Monaco as a good option when his contract expires in the summer of 2014.
Amongst other suitors for the Spanish 'keeper's signature are Arsenal and Manchester City, who are both looking for an experienced man between the sticks.
Ex-Barcelona team-mate Eric Abidal also plays for the French outfit, with new signings Radamel Falcao and Geoffrey Kondogbia other high-profile players acquired from the Spanish league.
Valdes is sure that Monaco would be a good option following his 20-year spell with Barcelona:
"Ligue 1 attracts me a lot - Monaco or elsewhere in France.
"This is one of my options. [My future] is in the hands of my representatives. But Monaco is a good option.
"I know that Abidal is very happy at Monaco and I am good friends with him. I consider him a brother.
"He is an example as a human being. To go back and play at his side again could be very special.
"I spent over 20 years at [Barcelona]. I had the chance to win everything, but now my adventure at the club ends. It is time for me to find new goals and find a new destination."
Valdes has reportedly been a long-term target for Roman Abramovich at Chelsea, but with on-loan goalkeeper Thibaut Cortois' excellent form for Spanish league-leaders Atletico Madrid, the Russian billionaire may think twice about bidding for the services of Valdes.
Valdes' Spain side have secured their place at the World Cup finals with a 2-1 win over Belarus on Friday, when Valdes took the place of out-of-favour Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas.
