Manchester United and Chelsea will have both been pleased with the news that transfer target, Eliaquim Mangala, has hired 'super-agent' Jorge Mendes in order to seal a big-money move.
According to talkSPORT, the appointment of Mendes is a clear indication that the centre-back wants to move to one of the English giants, and that this will be his last season in Portugal.
Mangala has been the subject of intense speculation recently, with the likes of Manchester City accompanying United and Chelsea in being linked with him.
The 22-year-old is regarded as one of the best up and coming prospects in European football, and has recently split with his advisor in order to be represented by Mendes.
Mendes, who is known for brokering deals of incredible value, was responsible for Cristiano Ronaldo's £80million move to Real Madrid in 2009 and his appointment is being viewed as a clear signal that Mangala is keen on assessing his potential transfer options at the end of the current season.
