Manchester City's £22m summer signing Stevan Jovetic has quashed rumours that he was interested in joining Juventus last summer, reports FourFourTwo.
The 23-year-old enjoyed a five-year stint with Fiorentina and was widely expected to switch to the Serie A champions in search of Champions League football after admitting the two clubs had entered negotiations.
However, the former Partizan forward has rubbished speculation that he was keen on moving to Turin and insists he his content with his move to the Etihad Stadium.
Speaking to Tuttosport, he said: "I never said I wanted Juventus. It is true that there was a negotiation. But I chose to go abroad."
Fiorentina narrowly missed out on Champions League qualification last season after finishing fourth in the league, but Jovetic believes his former club has the necessary credentials to go one better this campaign despite a poor start.
"I am continuing to follow (Fiorentina)," he added.
"I have many friends in Florence. They been a bit unlucky at the start of the season, but even though it will be tough I think they can still reach the Champions League."
The Montenegrin has made just three appearances for Manchester City and has plenty to do in order to overtake Sergio Agüero, Edin Dzeko and Alvaro Negredo as Manuel Pellegrini's first-choice striker.
