LA Lakers star Kobe Bryant thinks he could 'probably' play today if his side were involved in a playoff or Finals game, according to Bleacher Report.
The Lakers are currently in China as they continue their preseason preparations ahead of the new season.
Bryant is with the team as well, but did not practice on Monday ahead of the Lakers' fixture with the Golden State Warriors tomorrow.
He's recovering from a torn Achilles suffered in April this year, with the Lakers organisation insistent on a gradual reintroduction back into the practice lineup.
But he's clearly on the right path, as he told Bleacher Report: "If today was a playoff or NBA Finals [game], could I play? Probably."
And Bryant went on to reveal that his recovery is going well, and that he hopes to return to full practice ahead of the season's opening night later this month.
"I feel pretty damn good, so I'm going to get out today and try to move around on the court."
The Lakers face city rivals the LA Clippers in their first game of the season on October 29th.
Bryant may not have started full basketball drills as yet, but he remains in contention to feature against the Clippers.
