4. Ipswich Town

Past glories save Ipswich from a place higher in the list, as the focus shifts to George Burley's reign in-charge.

Having won the First Division, FA Cup and Uefa Cup in the 60s, 70s and 80s respectively, Ipswich are hardly minnows.

However, it's the nature of Burley's Ipswich adventure that warrants The Tractor Boys a place on the list.

Struggling to gain promotion back to the top-tier, Burley's side has lost three consecutive play-offs, only to fall at the first hurdle each time.

Ipswich returned to the top-flight in 2000, and on their first attempt secured Uefa Cup football - missing out on a place in the Champions League by a solitary point.

Fast forward two seasons and Ipswich were back in the Second Division and languishing in administration.
