10 years after promotion to the Football League, Wimbledon had shocked the country when they defeated all-conquering Liverpool in the 1988 FA Cup final.

10 years on from the famous cup win and Wimbledon had recorded their lowest top-flight finish.

Fast forward two more years and the club were relegated, three more years and the club had decided to move to Milton Keynes, and four years on Wimbledon were now MK Dons.

The Crazy Gang as they were known throughout much of the 80s and 90s were notorious for their eccentricity and off-field shenanigans.

But not even Vinnie Jones and the crew could have predicted the size of the off-field shenanigan that would see their club moved an hour down the M1.

The club was bought by Pete Winkelman and has since cut almost all ties to the former South London club, giving that famous FA Cup trophy to Merton Council, the place where Wimbledon FC previously resided.
